I have some standing stones by Fenris Miniatures that were painted at different times, the viking stones were a lot darker than the spiral stone so I progressively dry brushed, Vallejo Khaki Grey, GW Ushbati Bone and finally a light dry brush of white. I then proceeded to the stones and Vachel's bases, I started with a base coat of GW Rhinox Hide, followed by dry brushes of the paint illustrated in this and the following photo.I have some standing stones by Fenris Miniatures that were painted at different times, the viking stones were a lot darker than the spiral stone so I progressively dry brushed, Vallejo Khaki Grey, GW Ushbati Bone and finally a light dry brush of white. The models finished. for the basing I started by adding various Lichens, some fern and flowers from Gaugemaster by Noch (railroad scenery company) some tufts and smaller flowers, when this had dried I superglued some individual strands of flowers to bases, finally I added some grass flocks. Finished on Friday but had to wait til today for chance to photograph outside. The models finished. for the basing I started by adding various Lichens, some fern and flowers from Gaugemaster by Noch (railroad scenery company) some tufts and smaller flowers, when this had dried I superglued some individual strands of flowers to bases, finally I added some grass flocks. I have finished reading the rules including the army lists and glamours, and am looking forward to playing a game (be a while yet) I really like the fact that though using same figures for companions their stats and abilities vary dependent on which Thane they work for, their playstyle is further changed by the weapons and abilities of your Thane which is further customised by the 7 Glamours you choose.

I have undercoated the other Thanes and the King in white and now need to.undercoat all dark areas and metal in black,  photos taken when this is done.

Parcel Arrived Today

My order for more Elf king stuff arrived today (Along with my Symbaroum Monster Codex Kickstarter pledge) so have been a bit distracted, I have now assembled all the miniatures I ordered (5 Thanet and the Elf King) I also got the rulebook and a set of Glamour cards, I I’ll add the dice, tokens etc on my next order.

Assembly was very straight forward and the models did not need much cleaning up, the fit of the two additional bits of cloak on the Elf King left some fairly large gaps, but on the plus side Lucid Eye have provided nice secure bonds with a good amount of contact. The green stuffing of these cracks was not to bad and easy to do.Assembly was very straight forward and the models did not need much cleaning up, the fit of the two additional bits of cloak on the Elf King left some fairly large gaps, but on the plus side Lucid Eye have provided nice secure bonds with a good amount of contact. A slightly better picture of where Vachel is after last night. Will do a couple of hours now before bed and try to finish of the painting. I will take models outside in daylight to photograph when finished, will also experiment using my phone instead of this tablet see if I can get clearer pictures.A slightly better picture of where Vachel is after last night. I have read introductory story to rulebook and skimmed rules, the story is great and really gives you a good sense of the character for each of the Thanes, none of whom are particularly sympathetic although remaining appealing. The story makes me want to discover more about this world and should be released as a PDF, as I am sure it would encourage people to pick up this game.

The production value is very good and the layout is also very well done.

I will review the rules and provide you with my expectations prior to playing the game, and once figures painted I will review the actual game play and how it compares with my expectations.

Getting started

I have been admiring and drooling over this range since the first releases. Unfortunately I was an able to afford the previous order deals at the time, I have now decided to paint a few figures a month with the aim of having a playboy set by Christmas. Do not want to overburden myself as I still intend to continue with my Degenesis project.

I gave bought Vashel Golden hand whom I will paint over next couple of weeks as a trial, and if all goes well will add to collection each month.

I have some suitable scenery which I will be completing, but also looking to buy and create some pieces.

So far I have undercoated the miniature white and then picked out all metallic and dark areas in black, tonight I will start to put down base colours. Behind Vashel is the Reaper Bones scenery that came with a pair of fighting dragons, this was given me by a friend and has been in this partially painted state for a while, time to get it finished. So far I have undercoated the miniature white and then picked out all metallic and dark areas in black, tonight I will start to put down base colours.
