About the Project

...Because she's a death trap..... Edit, I have renamed the project and am editing the description because the originals are no longer really relevant. So this project started out because the very hot summer of 2018 would let me paint anything and most of my hobby stuff had to be packed away for a house move. Whats it become now? well the weathers cooled and the house move is done, but im enjoying building small shuttles... so welcome to the Od'Adlos ship yard!

Well I gotta say this has been a mental block and a half, I got so far and bam nothing!

I’ve sat and stared at this thing and verged on binning it a number of times, but!

I have progressed, a little……

so while prevarication and mental blocks (also that annoying real life thing) get in the way of the other ships. inspiration struck after the wife cleared some crud off her desk, meet the “Wild at Heart” a racing skiff now used for more nefarious purposes…

So the Wild At Heart consists of the following

Deodarant roller, pritt stikk tubes, kids stick on jems, super glue lids and paper clips. Oh and the usual copius amounts of super glue to hold it all together 😀

The mini for scale is from Mantics Star Saga.

The red ship and the blue ship had a race.......

The Golden Arches is a medium/ bulk foodstuffs hauler, she  carries processed carbs and protein supplements to whichever moon wants it.

There are those who say she doesnt seem to carry quite so much as she could given the size of her holds……

so this is just me messing around in the first stages after inspiration whacked me around the head and said so this is just me messing around in the first stages after inspiration whacked me around the head and said "look, see that pringles tube, you can use that you can!" It didnt help that this occurred at silly o'clock and kept me up for way longer than it should have.

Why are pringles tubes not an easy to measure diameter? 7 point bloomin 5 cm! yeah that bits easy, but then to draw the circle with a compass, yep the radius is 3.75 &*%”&^^&^%”%**!&^*!& (insert swear words of choice at this point)

the living spaces will be off set, im thinking that they’ll be running down the port side of the top most tube…. but thats a bit of a way off as yet, I still need to finish Daisy.

Thoughts?

The darker colour to the card is because I used a quick drying wood varnish to harden the card so it became sandable (is that a word? well it is now). worked a treat I think.

So my missus, when I showed her what I was doing asked if it was a dog, so it is now..

The Stardog class shuttle, Registration mark W.I.7.5, Currently named “Dreaming of Daisy”, current owner Jacarinth Yeau.

Like Captain, like ship. Battered, scarred, patched up and parts replaced. She’s been all over, carried everything, lost vital fluids in all the star systems from Brizzle to Gasglow. But she keeps flying, ticking along looking for the next big score. Funny though, there ain’t that many stardogs left flying and rumours are going around about assassinations and disappearances  and stardogs feature in more than a few, like when Antos Leeva and his entire crew were taken down hard, a stardog was seen taking off just before the lock-down orders arrived. Coincidence, maybe, I think I’ll just find a docking berth somewhere where there ain’t no stardogs..

An update..of sorts

So if you read(did I even say?) previously I’ve been moving house. Well the main part is done, however chaos reins, I cant find very much so am reduced to fairly simplistic project parts at the moment.

I dont even have a decent sized working area currently so have even had to stop work on the Tangerine Dream.

Soooo instead heres another little shuttle craft 😀

Once I start detailing I’ll be adding a bucky cable that would guide a shuttle into place without the shuttle having to use its engines to close to the hull.

A very limited pallette so farSo a fairly cool (but Oh so Early :( ) morning meant I was able to spray and start applying some paint to the Cicada Shuttle.. A very limited pallette so far

A small history of this paticular craft…..

The JetBug(TM) class shuttle “Cicada” registration mark “RP-142” was an executive surface to orbital shuttle belonging to the Rolande Pilowsky Corporation for the personal use of Rolande himself. Despite being fairy new, it was disposed of by the corporation board after the shuttle was found in a decaying orbit, the chairman, advisors and crew were all found dead inside. Bearing marks of extreme violence but no sign of the attacker was found or of their entry or exit point.

Although sent for full material recycling, the disposal company quietly sold the craft on as she was still fairly new, after passing through various hands “Cicada” ended up in the hands of a trader captain of slighty dubious rep Calvin Swift, Captain of the “Tangerine Dream”…..

More neck than a herd of giraffes!!
