So I figured I would do a little write up on how I make my slate and the base for the white lion. First up you are going to need some super sculpey. I use the beige one but you could use any of them

The lion's base

Take a nice size chunk of it out of the box and knead. Then make a “cookie” or any other shape you like about 1/6th-1/8th of an inch. Press the cookie down on some lightly crumpled tin foil. The bake this all at 275F (130C) for like 10 mins. Afterwards you should get something like this.

After it cools down pull from the foil. The foil side will be the top facing for all of your rocks. As it should have lines and divots in it. Next take a pair of pliers and snap off peices. You will get edges that look like this.

After a few nice pieces and some smaller shims you are ready to make your “slate” base. Glue them down with your models footing in mind. And use your shim pieces and some textured past to fill in your gaps. This is how my lions base looked like before the paint

I hope this helps out some of you. Lastly a picture of the finished base before the lion was added

The model I chose to paint first for the game was the white lion. Mainly because he is the first monster the survivors encounter and in the beginning probably the most fought monster.

The colors I used are all scale 75 paints unless stated otherwise

Darkest shadows, flat black mix with abyssal blue about 3:1 mix. I then mixed one part brown gray to the mix above and started the highlighting. From that point I mixed more brown gray to the mix and kept highlighting until pure brown gray. Next I mixed a bit of brown gray and mojave white abot 2:1. Adding more mojave white until pure. After that i washed the whole model other than the top of the back with a mix of dark tone, strong tone (both by army painter), and lahmian medium about a 1:1:1. Once that was dry i touched up with mojave white. The red on the paws was done by a couple thin passes with secret weapon red black wash then a pass or 2 of fresh blood by minitaire. The eyes were painted pure white. Then a couple of glazes of evil sun scarlet (gw). This was followed by a bit of troll slayer orange (gw) and a small dot of white
