About the Project
This is an ongoing project for my Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago miniatures. Have only recently gotten into the game so I am still working on a beast menagerie and crews for myself and friend.
Currently, I am working on the Snake-men from the recent Nickstarter. In addition, I have some regular crewmen (Free with the Nickstarter!), a Heritor, several Treasure tokens, and a slew of critters all in the queue (plus terrain).
Apologies for the initial quality of pictures (camera phone). I plan to (hopefully soon) build a light box and utilize a higher quality camera.
As FG:GA is miniature agnostic, I will also feature some miniatures from other ranges. These will be noted in pictures.

Project Status and On Hold (Temporarily)
First of all, sorry for the lack of updates. The past three weeks have been, for me, very long and arduous. So many things taking time away from hobbying, but so is life.
Lets move on to the bad news so we can rip that band-aid right off. This project, for the moment, is going to be placed On Hold (Temporarily). There is a very good reason for this though, as I have decided that I want to join the End Is Nigh – Terrain Challenge. Put a lot of thought into it and really wanted to see if I could expand my skill set (hobbywise) a little bit and bring some diversity to my table top.
Now on to the Status update. Most of the test Snake-men have color on them them. Minus some highlights and finishing up the bases, this is where I am. Personally, I think the green one with the spear is far too bright and will be adjusting the green going forward. The blue looks really dark, but some highlights should make easy work of that. Red has been my favorite so far. The yellow just hasn’t really impressed me so far. Maybe after seeing it against a complete base I will feel better about it.
Pics or it didn’t happen:
Sorry for the poor image quality, was in a bit of a rush.
A Boy and his Box
I’ve made a light box! Found some very simple instructions on the interwebs and got to work. Didn’t document the process but here are the results:
Still experimenting with it. Different lighting sources, thickness of tissue paper, backgrounds, and so on. Anyone have some experience with this?
Also upgraded the camera to my significant other’s Nikon D3100. Takes great pictures but I am still trying to find the settings that will really make my pictures look sharp.
Speaking of pictures, here is the newest Snake-man to get close to finished. He still needs highlights then off the the archipelago he goes. Here he is with the new light box and camera!
Last but not least, a little sneak peak of a Central Treasure Token I am working on:
The Bestiary Grows (Somewhat)
Was struggling to find my motivation this week and decided to tackle something a little different. The Snake-men just need a small break, but I’ll be jumping back on them very soon, as my Sea Turtle pirate needs a little paint.
This is a Reaper Miniatures Dungeon Vermin – Centipedes. For Ghost Archipelago, I will be using them as Jungle Ticks. Liked the idea of a keeping it kind of classic with the yellow legs, but making the body a brighter cooler. I think it makes for a decent contrast.
While not my best work, I think it will be great for a maybe, sometimes random encounter.
Thanks for stopping by!

Snakey Progress
Was able to get a little work in on the Snake-men. Mostly just base coats on leather/armor. Nothing too fancy. Red Snake-man in the middle for reference. He still needs some highlights but pretty close to what the overall look will be.
Also want to thank everyone for stopping in and leaving some comments/liking the stuff. Will be making this as weekly (or more often) as time allots.
Thanks again!
Snake-men Skin Experiment
These are some initial skin tests. While classic green seems like the way to go, I wanted to be a little different. The red guy is the closest to ‘complete’. I believe the blue, yellow, and green will benefit from a undercoat. Initially, I did not undercoat the skin areas but then tried it on the green skin and it made the world of difference. Blue one has been undercoated and washed with Secret Weapon Soft Body Black. Not sure I am 100% pleased with it.
