Hunting in the Darkness - KD:M
11 Nov 23: Where I got to before calling it
At this point it was taking too long and I wanted to move on.
Changed the bells, going over them with Vallejo Silver.
The yellow tassels for a couple of glazes of Vallejo Med. German Camo Brown for shade.
The fur trim around the end of the sleeve is glazed with Vallejo Buff.
The trim on the gloves was another paralysis moment. I didn’t really want the two fur trims, adjacent to each other, to just be the same colour. But it seems that’s what all the other painted examples I could find online had gone with. Eventually I settled on Citadel Kantor Blue. I glazed that on in a couple of layers.
The two parts of the fur trim then both got a careful drybursh of Vallejo Ivory.
I also built up the shades and highlights as with the previous sleeve.
It was just a trick of the light, but an inspirational one. I’ve accidentally got a great reference on where to shade and highlight the folds of the robe.
Also seen there is a distraction, I’ll get to that later.
I ended up getting the shade step done with the Vallejo Black Red.
I also used the Army Painter Warpaints Yellow to base coat the piping around the pockets.
