Finally got around to painting more elephants for the Carthaginians (Victrix African Elephants).

These were painted with the same techniques and mix of washes as the previous one but I had then to apply the transfers from LBM Studios to finish them off.

Once all base colours completed the areas where the transfers to be applied were painted in white.Once all base colours completed the areas where the transfers to be applied were painted in white.
Once transfers applied there are always the inevitable gaps that are left showing the white.Once transfers applied there are always the inevitable gaps that are left showing the white.
It is then just a matter of colour matching to fill in the gaps and once completing applying the matt varnish. It is then just a matter of colour matching to fill in the gaps and once completing applying the matt varnish.

Now the only downside with the use of the washes is they will always highlight any joins (and on the Victrix models there is one right through the forehead) and no matter how well you think you have filled it in it gets you.

Still have a couple more to do that I will be completing as Numidian for variety.

Tons of fun for everyone, except your opponents 😁. In putting together your plastic models have you joined them with “sprue goo” before? I’ll normally gap fill with enough plastic cement to do the same on mine.
