Thank you hobby hangout for the likes and the kind comments. But thanks the most for the correction with my history.
I had seen other people paint Last Romans on the XLBS and unofficial hobby hangout etc. I had no excuse for mistaking the flat fur or felt hats with a simple metal helmet.
The colours of hat probably would not have been uniform, but I know that my friend quite liked the idea of their being a slightly uniform look to the project. Green hats for the warriors and red hats for the archers doesn't feel that out of place and is in keeping with the other colours used across the army.
