This is my fisrt attempt at an artillery piece and crew. I kept putting off painting teams but after adding some details to the base and painting the minis I had fun and love how it turned out, like a mini diorama. This is my fisrt attempt at an artillery piece and crew. Way back I painted up Perry 8th Army and DAK but Warlord’s latest releases convinced me to sell a painted army to start all over again. I used Warlords paint set they sell (or at least did) as the bases for my paint scheme with a few changes. As it’s historics I mostly stick to Vallejo paints.

Uniforms: Vallejo 819 – Iraqi Sand
Webbing and backpack: Vallejo 884 – Stone Grey
Uncovered Helmets: Vallejo 847 – Dark Sand
Socks, Canteen Straps, Cancas, Weapon Slings etc. and Covered Helmets: Vallejo 988 Khaki
Water Bottle and gaiters: Vallejo 921 – English Uniform Brown
Entrenching Tool Handle: Vallejo 826 – German Camo Medium Brown
Boots and Weapons: Vallejo 995 German Grey
Rifles – Panzer Aces 311 New Wood
Skin use Vallejo Game Colour Heavy Skin for Tanned Skin
Bayonets, Weapons and Tools: Leadbelcher
Artillery and Equipment – Vallejo 847 Dark Sand

The above creates a nice faded desert uniform for the Brits.

The weathering for the Artillery and Vehichles I use Lead Belcher (just a little) and Mechanicus Standard Grey (focus more on this colour) and dab it on using a piece of foam/sponge for a more natural effect.

Later I may post photos of my tanks where pigment powders do a good job weathering the wheels as if they have been out in the hot sand for days.
