The Great Grey Massacre.
Me 2
Me again, “if you’ll pardon the pun”… This shadow warrior is going to be me in my Rangers of Shadow Deep playthroughs. The Bow is done to match the bows of the High Elf Archers I first painted back in 2013 I did as an improvement shade/line in the metal trim using Reikland Fleshshade. It’s a bit inconsistent but I am still getting to grips with such subtle techniques. This one I went the whole way in terms of traditional base, shade and highlight. All the leather was based with XV-88 washed with Reikland Fleshshade and then highlighted with a lighter brown Barbarian Leather. All the metal including the helmet had a base in Ironbreaker, a wash of Nuln Oil and a drybrush or highlight of Speed Metal.
Despite going the extra yard in some places it still took the same time to complete as the Sister of Avelorn. I was also able to neatly paint details in quick succession which would have been beyond me 4 years ago. Which I feel supports my theory that the all do this and you magically become a better painter videos are all lies. The only way to become a better painter is to paint as many models and terrain pieces as possible.
