Dungeonalia - The Monstrous Denizens of Palooka Four
Day 2 followed much of Day 1 in cleaning up the miniatures. Mostly ensuring that the pincers of the Homosimilis Scarabaeus are held in place by greenstuff and more greenstuff properly holds the Terribilis Dolorus to their bases.
Day 3 was when I properly got down to business, settling on Brazil’s Mycena lucentipes as inspiration. To block paint these sentient fungi I used Citadel’s Striking Scorpion Green (Contrast) for the body, Game Color’s Leather Brown for the various straps and bags, a once over with very watered down Citadel Abaddon Black followed by Tamiya Khaki. To give a darker look to the faces I did a second coat of the green.
They don’t look particularly amazing at the moment, however I think I will enjoy building the soft brown colours onto of the fruiting body, so that there is a roughly clover-like design between the lights and the darks. Further, I have to keep in mind that the green grows more neon the farther I go towards the feet. It’s pretty counterintuitive to my mind but that’s part of the fun.
Next up, more fungi painting and prepping the Ferradversus Diaboli.
