Being the last Sunday of the month Kirriemuir Wargames Club had it’s monthly meet up at the Guide Halls, The Roods, Kirriemuir (first gate up the hill after the CO-OP) before their annual Wargames Show Targe.  Targe is open to all at the same venue from 10am Saturday 4th November featuring participation games, a bring and buy, plus Flags of War and Claymore Castings.

We played a 4 player game based on the 2nd scene This Town Ain’t Big Enough (The Good, The Lead and The Ugly) from the Deadman’s Hand rulebook.  We each took a gang, with the Lawmen and the Cowboys allied against the Banditos and Daughters of the West.  Each of us had a half deck which included our gang specific cards and a hand of 2 cards instead of 5. As we had double the number of figures we also doubled the victory conditions to 6 out of action Lawmen and Cowboys or 4 out of action Banditos and Daughters of the West.

The Lawmen and the Cowboys divided into 4 groups with one of the groups enjoying breakfast at the Sassy Gal Saloon while the rest went about their morning business unaware of the pending attack from the Banditos and Daugters of the West or that the Bandito leader was enjoying a pint in the bar across the street.

Surprisingly when the Banditos and the Daughters of the West initially attacked none of the Lawmen or Cowboys fell.  The Lawmen and Cowboys then started to take down the Banditos despite some suspicious shotgun misfires.  It was to no avail for the Lawmen and Cowboys as the Bandito leader finished his pint and inspired his side to greater action. Lawman after Lawman fell in the street and with a final shot up Cowboy victory went to the Banditos and the Daughters of the West.

3 Banditos out of action to 5 Lawmen and 1 Cowboy.

Yes I was the Law and the Law didn’t win.
