The Cleansing of Galatus Prime

The world of Galatus Prime, a recent attempt at cleansing the planet of a Daemon incursion by the combined imperial forces of the Cadians and the Death Korps Of Krieg saw a long dragged out war of attrition. Although the Imperial guard would have firepower and superior strategy on their side, the resilience and corruption of the armies of chaos would prove too much to handle. Thus Inquisitor Arasma of the Ordo Malleus called in the support of the Grey Knights.

Unfortunately for the poor guardsmen who had fought valiantly over this world for years it was this action taken by the inquisitor that would doom them all. After 4 more months of brutal fighting from the Imperial guard and the grey Knights the world would still not be announced cleansed by inquisitor Arasma. The Imperial guard would suffer many casualties over the years of fighting and the grey Knights would lose many of their Astartes brothers. Inquisitor Arasma and the grey Knights command would meet aboard the inquisitors starship to discuss the final step of the cleansing, cleaning the chaos taint from the remaining imperial forces on the ground.

The grey Knights landing on the planet of Galatus Prime meant that the entirety of the Imperial guard forces would be killed in order to keep their existence a secret. Neither the inquisitor nor the grey Knights had the man power or resources to cleanse what was left of the Imperial guard on the planet, so they decided to send a message to an order that did have the resources, the adepta sororitas. A large contingent of the order of the ebon chalice would be dispatched in order to sanctify this world under the god emperor’s name once again. A shrine world to the God Emperor infested by corrupted guardsman would not do. The sororitas arrived at the planet and the first landing begun…
