Using Vallejo ground texture rough pumice, I put down a base.  Then painted them a dark umber.  Followed by a sloppy dry brush of a mossy green.

I got a bag of green plastic plants from Amazon for a few bucks and found a moss mat at a local craft store. I got a bag of green plastic plants from Amazon for a few bucks and found a moss mat at a local craft store.
I pulled apart the moss mat and glued the pieces down for ground cover. I took the hobby knife to plastic plants and cut off the leaves to a workable length. They had to be quick set with super glue to keep them in place. I found some left over GW plants that I painted brown and dry-brushed green. I just got in there and mixed it up.I pulled apart the moss mat and glued the pieces down for ground cover. I took the hobby knife to plastic plants and cut off the leaves to a workable length.
