I love her I love her I love her. From the dramatically swishy coat, to the fancy hat, and the jaunty beak, she’s perfect. It’s a gorgeously detailed model.

I decided on blue for her coat. She looks like she’s got attitude, and I felt a nice rich blue had the right kind of sass for her swish. I worked a few glazes over the base colour to really pick out the natural curves and creases of the fabric.

For the hat, gloves, and boots, I went for a basic black for contrast.

The trousers are a weathered leather look, with gold/brass detailing. She’s wearing a white, high-collared shirt. I added gold buckles and catches to the coat, and picked out the mask in the same leather as her trousers. Wipe clean fabric is always good when you’re murdering people horribly, after all.

She came with a lovely cobblestone base, so I picked out the stones in a couple of shades of grey plus a highlight. Then I added some tiny loose stones. I always like to do this on anything cobbled, as I think it gives it another shade of realism. I’m toying with the idea of some blood splatters on the street, but for now, I’m calling her done.

I went to Venice a few years back and then I saw Carnevale! I so want to buy it but I cannot justify another collection of miniatures I will never use just to paint Plague Doctors! ha ha.

Excellent work across the board on these.
