Tolkiens Grave
Below is a picture of Tolkien and his wife’s grave.
I tried to pay a little bit of a homage to this in my diorama.

The grave that I chose had a little bit of inscribed writing on it. I smoothed this over with some modelling putty.
The painting didn’t actually take too long with much using being made of dirty looking washes.

Thanks very much 🙂 I’m still trying to decide on a base. Any ideas? as your own Diorama in the lantern is fantastic. I though maybe one of them slices of log varnished up.
I usually go with a ‘picture frame-base’. You can find picture-frames with many different designs. A frame with a floral design would go well with this subject. If this sounds confusing (since I am not a very good teacher) I will make a post of it with several pictures showing how it is done. Let me know if you would like me to do this for you.
