Digging through my backlog of shame, I kept finding Shermans, mostly V’s but a splattering of M1A1’s (apologies previous conversion was on a M4A1).

So thought need to match the previous 2x troops colour. Now these were done when ‘Tanks were released and beefed up with some PSC’ models andthe original on the Beach which had British Shermans and Stugs rather than M4A1’s and Panzer IV’s. . It was the reason I actually had painted Infantry at the D Day bootcamp ( I didn’t believe I could get them finished in time so didn’t bother, hats of to Laughing Boy and those that did)

I think I had a Regiment in mind when I did the original two troops but will have to backtrack to figure which.

11th Armoured Division was equipped primarily with Shermans, apart from Recon Regiment which had Cronwells, the Shermans being replaced with Comets gradually by end of the war. So in some ways they are still the meat of this project.

It was before the project system and before contrasts so I have to remember how I did them. They were much darker than my Later Americans, with multiple dry brushing and washs.

I’m pretty sure they started off with Army Painter Army Green base colour and luckily I had a can already so:
