Well here I am 2nd project posted in a week.

A long time ago when Justin was Wee Bairn, Warren was a teenager teasing his little brother, and Gerry still had some room in his bedroom I started my 2nd foray into flying Battleships.

The 1st time most of Beasts would have been little more than glints in their parents eye  as on a visit to the pre GW only shops I found ……

Above was a flying ship game fought on 2″ hex maps  ,( some nice Martian canals and cities  I still have in a cupboard in spare room behind stacked boxes) of Martian sky Galleons vs British and odd ships from other nations on Mars. It was realised just before GDW released Space 1889 role playing game ( which we also played till we had dome all the then published scenarios)

Played OK  but although a couple of later publications produce new ship designs  no new models were produced  though they did do a box of additional ships if British from original box models.

I did convert a few and scratch built some to fill on gaps , but then it faded into obscurity.

The 2nd foray was started with Brigade games Aeronef range and rules ,( now expanded and renamed Imperial Skies) where I built a late 19th Century Royal Navy and a mixed Russian/French fleet as opposition.  Aeronef itself never really jellied and we converted our own WW2 rules to cover it  though even those were still in development at the time.

We played a fair few games and I was considering a amendment to ship speeds for my Ancillary Bob’s Fighting Ships when time and life got in way.
