The dice seemed to keep conjuring more Bloaters and Soldiers from the far right corner in the main, but Jemimah refused to panic, getting and epic double kill. She levelled he pistol, winged a bloater who duely exploded and the shrapnel hit his neighbouring bloater and he too exploded. But as the red mist fell and soldier shots rang out Jemimah had been reduced to two health herself.
C3FO picked up the loot token (and in my mind) grabbed the collar of the all but lifeless body of the Chiseller and dragged them both towards the exit as as his gyros whined and grated.
After two turns of no shield it jolted back into life across the team's path to the exit again and by the end of a grueling round of play the whole team was reduced to two health.
But when you're led by a veteran who has survived a lost war with his brother and has survived against all odds on dozens of missions before the team don't panic. The Commando Arnaldo slams his axe between a soldier zombies eyes with a glorious crit as if to cement that the fight isn't lost until it's lost.
The shield disappeared for just long enough for the team to fight their way up to an ominous looking scanner with spooky lighting and within a sprint of the exit...
And then, as if the station somehow took pity on them, the shield sprung back up and kept the hoard from reaching them as they killed one last zombie and all sprinted out of the lab.
I could almost hear them panting for breath as the door slammed behind them.
