Robin paints Genestealer Cults

A review of the Shadow Throne box.
So today something very special happened!
I think most people consider Warhammer and other war games a very insular hobby. You buy, paint and collect by yourself. The only social element for a lot from an outsiders perspective is when games happen.
However that being said; anytime I go in I normally end up having a social element with talking to the person in the shop, posting on forums, talking to my friends about progress I’m making and talking about what I plan to achieve next!!
Shay messaged me about the Genestealers/ Custodes box and the actual great value that a spilt would be! Straight away we organised and waiting somewhat patiently… ahem not that we kept messaging each other getting hyped about it.
As value goes;
The Broodcoven works out at £37.50, the Neophyte Hybrids £27.50 and the Reductus Saboteur (I’m guessing from other elites) £17.50. With £50 spent I feel like I’ve essentially got £32.50 for free!? He also seemed to be very happy with the value of his half!
It arrived today and Shay messaged 5 minutes before the shop opened asking me when I’d be down to open it together! I think he was as excited as me.
Can we also pause and talk about how amazing the artwork looks!
What I’m looking forward to;
The model I’m looking forward to most is the new Reductus Saboteur; I love how cool it looks, and as you’ve seen I really love a quirky elite.
I’m still debating how to lay out the Neophyte Hybrids and have some great ideas for the conversions I’d like to include in the Broodcoven!
Future plans;
Shay also said about putting on a battle report playing the two halves of the box against each other on a table?! How would you feel about that? Also any suggestions for the layout of Neophytes would be greatly appreciated!
I’m looking forward to posting picks of the progress as I make and complete this box.
