Retreat From Moscow
Scythe Spectres
Three scythe spectres by CP Models. I really like the versatility of these models, as they could be used as cultists, or maybe demons in addition to ghosts depending on requirements.
Super fast to paint, although I could have gone for brighter highlights. I decided green would be a suitable colour for the robes. In the midst if a snow storm, the French see some movement ahead, a flash of green colour. “Russian infantry ahead!” They prepare their muskets for a mortal foe, but something far more terrifying stalks them in the blizzard.
First time I’m seeing these models. The one with the tongue/tentacle coming out of the skull mouth is particularly creepy. Love the zombies in the previous post.
Thanks NR. I love these sculpts as they are really versatile. They could be at home in fantasy, horror and possibly sci-fi settings, and can represent a few fair different things on the tabletop.
I’m probably going to be holding back a bit on this project for a short time, as it won’t be long until the official range are released by North Star. Having said that, I’m keeping an eye out for suitable vampire and werewolf miniatures. Most seem too ‘fantasy’ in their style, so it will be interesting to see what North Star produce.
The werewolves in the photos in the official blog post for the Silver Bayonet are the same as those for ‘Dracula’s America’. I will probably get them as well, even though I have the ones from TTCombat. Buying some period appropriate vampires might be more difficult.
