Lupa15's Spring Cleaning 2021
Been busy since my last post
I realized the other day that I haven’t posted any updates in a while but I have been busy with both hobby and outside of hobby.
First up was actually painting some of the Stormcast including Vandus Hammerhand, Lord-Relictor and Prosecutors. I don’t have pictures but I started base coating each with Citadel Celestra Grey, Citadel Screamer Pink and Citadel Macragge Blue. Finally I was able to finish painting the stones with a 50-50 mixture of Citadel Celestra Grey and Citadel Mechanicus Standard Grey as a basecoat. Washing that basecoat with a 1-1-1 mixture of Citadel Lahmian Medium, Citadel Nuln Oil and water. Layer and highlight back up to the basecoat mixture before a final highlight of Citadel Celestra Grey.
Then there was the Dracoth….
I really had to make up my own recipe here. I wanted something that didn’t stand out too much and yet looked something like a scaled creature. As the cloaks are based with Citadel Macragge Blue I decided to use that as a base and then build up from there.
Dracoth Skin
Basecoat with Citadel Macragge Blue and then overbrush the skin with Citadel Altdorf Guard Blue.
Wash all over with Citadel Drakenhof Nightshade.
Drybrush with Citadel Altdorf Guard Blue before highlighting the scales and edges of the skin with Citadel Calgar Blue.
Dracoth Belly
This seems to blend more in the pictures but in person stands out a bit more. Depending on how much you want it to stand out use more Citadel Thousands Sons Blue.
Use a roughly 50/50 mixture of Citadel Macragge Blue and Citadel Thousands Sons Blue. I used a roughly 40/60 mixture rather than a pure 50/50 mixture.
Layer the folds of the skin with a roughly 50/50 mixture of Citadel Aldorf Guard Blue and Citadel Ahriman Blue.
Finally highlight with a 50/50 mixture of Citadel Calgar Blue and Citadel Baharoth Blue.
