And here is most of the end results. I kept a single Sprue for an unboxing on my Youtube Channel which will just become another 5 Slingers
Speaking of Slingers
This takes my Swordsmen up to 30. I wanted this unit to be slightly smaller than the others just to make them look a little more elite
A mighty Phalanx complete with Unit Champion, Banner and Musician
I wanted something easy, fluffy and funny so I went with Mickey Mouse Ears made from Frying Pans
More Halberdiers in the same way. For 10 Man Wide units I want the front rank minus the Banner and Champion to be actively fighting so they got the two handed pose. Also for other games (like Saga for example) I prefer to have similar looking units and 8 men fits that nicely
Some Archers with another Commander. You can build twice as many archers as you can Pikes or Polearms (1 Pike and Polearm per Sprue and 2 Bows) so they get another Champion and Hornblower but no Banners
For Games where I need a Commander or a Command Base (Like Saga for example) I wanted to have a few tough looking elites to justify the usually boosted stats. So I made a General with two Knightly looking Bodyguards and an Army Banner which I'm going to make a Sabot Base for. I made the cloaks from the tissue I was using to wipe my brush, paint it with a PVA and Water mix then after the spray undercoat it should be fine.
What do you guys think?
The Current Army, Notice the Giant being properly Giant next to the Halflings. This weekend I'll go out and pick up another two to complete the trio
The Banner Pole was just a simple Pike Shaft attached to a Pike then a big blob of Gel Super glue was put on it and straight away dunked into water. It gives the impression of a lot of string holding it together which I like for these homely folk. Next entry will be some banner designs I'll be having a go at myself. If you have any ideas please let me know in the comments
