Lupa15's Khorne Bloodbound
Making Lava Bases!
After rebasing the Khorne Bloodbound on the cork I wanted to make it look like a dark brown rock. Something that wouldn’t contrast from the lava too much and yet also blend well with the dark red.
Dark Brown Rocks (Cork)
- Use several thinned coats of Citadel Dryad Bark
- Wash with Citadel Nuln Oil
- Drybrush with Citadel Dryad Bark
- Drybrush lighter than the previous coat with Citadel Gorthor Brown. Focus on the edges rather than all over.
Lava
- Base with several coats of Citadel Averland Sunset
- Randomly spot with Citadel Troll Slayer Orange and then use Citadel Evil Sunz Scarlet within the previous orange spots.
- On the Averland Sunset coat randomly spot with Citadel Flash Gitz Yellow and then use Citadel White Scar similar to the Evil Sunz Scarlet within the previous yellow spots.
- Once dry cover with think coat of Citadel Mordant Earth (I went back over the first coat with another coat when it was partially dry. Approximately 2-3 minutes after applying the first coat.
