I started out with the Hero Forge program and “sculpting” a miniature that I thought best represented Harry Dresden.

Creating Harry Dresden

This was the original miniature that I went with. I knew that I’d have to go with the full-length duster that Dresden wears in all of the artwork. I wish that I could have made a t-shirt for underneath but the program doesn’t allow for that.

He is then wearing a pair of jeans and combat boots as he often wears in the early books. Of course, he had to have a revolver as any other weapon would spark and crap out and he has the staff for channelling his magic.

I had originally gone with Mister on the base but I changed that in the final model as you’ll see. Also, I gave him the shorter hair which shows up in a lot of the artwork for him and of course…Dresden don’t wear no hat.

Nice. A very light and judicious application of nuln oil or diluted black ink to the jawline simulates stubble very well. Leave to dry and repeat for heavier effects if required.
