Rejuvenate Pre Painted Star Wars Miniatures The Easy Way
Time for Comparisons!
So I ran a few tests on minis I have duplicates of to see how they turn out. In some instances, the difference is very subtle, but the combination of the wash step and the rebasing step I think makes for a very acceptable result and a collection that I would be happy to display and use for Sci-Fi Skirmish games and RPGS!
Great idea…think I’ll do this my collection of pre painted minis.
It really does help bring them a little more up to date 🙂
Those clear bases really help bend the minis into the matt
Nooooooo! Don’t snip it! The collectors value! Think of the children!
The fact I own them (The Mighty ‘Lord’ Warzan) is what gives them their collectors value 😉
I don’t think that’s how collection worth is measured XD
I think Leia looks better with a crisper white but otherwise all the others are an improvement. Good job 🙂
Ive been thinking about this – I may do a cotton bud and dipped in paint thinner to see about bringing the highs up again
Wow you’re quick 🙂 Bringing up the highlights would help I think.
Probably a bit late now but I wonder if a lighter blue shade might have suited her better. The browner tones work better for outdoor troopers in my opinion. I think she wore that outfit mainly on board rebel and Imperial ships.
I just gave her a wipe with a wet wipe – will see how that goes. As the wash is water-based it slowly reactivates and comes off the mini.
A blue shade is a very interesting idea. I’m going to look into that!
Great wee project! Unifies everything together no matter where the models came from and updates the look of everything. Well done!
Great improvement! And the clear bases really help keep the miniature “in theme” with the table.
