To Kaldstrom and Beyond! - Beyond Kaldstrom
It’s been a long week with things non hobby related. I did manage to get some time this week to paint some mini’s. I painted an entire model during the radio show and another one during the UHH. Well worth the time.
I do like the Beyond sets another easy no brainer upgrade path. Some of these models though especially the Pano ones were quite difficult and time consuming to paint, with the amount of colours on them. In comparison the Invincible hacker took under 2 hours during the UHH. So glad I have my own Yu Jing force. Painting the yellow / orange puts me in my happy place.

Still no Defiance as yet, so having to wait on Corvus belli solving the Brexit problem. I do have the Starmada set and a few other models still to paint but I wanted to do that at the same time as defiance so I get get more ideals for basing as my 0-12 are on defiance bases.
I also need to finish some Kaldstrom buildings and finish redesigning them. I am also heavily tempted by the Code One tags… All of them. The next two weeks are set to be hell at work but that either means much more painting or much less painting will need to wait and see.

I couldn’t resist the CodeOne TAGS and got them all, regardless of whether I intend to field that faction or not. Too beautiful to pass up.
…with the exception of the O-12 TAG.
The truth is I’m just not feeling much love for that faction. They have some decent sculpts but nothing that unique. I would have preferred more Aleph rather than a new branch of Aleph. However, I’m completely unplugged from the Infinity meta and there may well have been a hole that O-12 fills.
Yeah 0-12 do seem to have been squeezed in for the completeness and they seem to be more present because of the fluff. There is not much unique about their play style, but their use of adhesive ammo though the riot stoppers is a little individual. Apart from that it’s all high end troops, equipment and skills which Pano and Yu Jing can already do well. I think it’s mostly flavour, like the gangbusters, Psi Cops and Blue coats. Under two hours to paint the hacker to that standard? That’s impressive! They look amazing.
