Hobby exploits 2020 and onward
All hail mighty oils!
I’m having true blast painting with oils! Just look at that T-Drone bellow. It was really stress-free painting, amount of time you have to take your decisions, change colours etc. is insane. I guess you can really focus on painting, choosing colours and effects not stressing about blending or mistakes.
Step by step:
- Black primer (solid layer),
- White ink – airbrush points of light on black parts,
- Solid layer of 50:50 mixture of AP Dragon Red and VGC Red ink on lower parts of the drone,
- Stipple VMC Sunny Skin Tone over red parts,
- Transparent layer of the same red over stippled parts,
- Repeat steps 4 and 5,
- Black oil wash (only panel lines),
- Paint the rest of the robot with oil white and black 😉
- Add transparent layer of VGC Violet Ink over the muzzles (airbrush),
- Add transparent layer of VGC Red Ink on the very tip of the muzzle (airbrush),
- Paint yellow triangle with whatever yellow-like colour on your palette.
