It’s been a while, chaps! End of a school term is always hectic, even forgetting The Event (Stay Indoors). However, I finally got around to some painting during a brief lull in my exams, and here is the work in question:

The colours on the armour and cloth are the same as the last team member, but what I experimented with here was hair colour and skin tone.

So I went into quite a long system of painting the skin for the last mini in this team, but as we all know skin tones are one of those things that vary all over the place, so I thought I’d try a new method for this one. It’s not as pale as the first mini and, I think, looks a little more tanned. Either way, it was actually fairly simple to do (though I don’t have step-by-step pics this time…

First off, I based all of the skin with Palid Wych Flesh. As the man himself says; two thin coats. Though with this colour you may need 3 if your primer is a bit darker. Once you have your nice pale colour, take some pure white paint (I used White Scar) and add some broad highlights to the face, abdomen, and other prominent parts…like the butt… Next up, cover the skin in Darkoath Flesh (though Guilliman Flesh would also work for a slightly different tone) and once that is dry drybrush the skin with Kislev Flesh. If you wanted it a bit more pale then a lighter drybrush of Palid Wych Flesh would do that for you.

After that I did some details for make-up on the face.

So orange/ginger hair is something I’ve tried before, and I replicated that colour here as best as I could remember it. Basecoat of Jakero Orange to start, making sure to have a nice solid base. After that a coat of Reikland Fleshshade, though Agrax Earthshade would create a browner tint. After that I did a second coat near to the crown to darken the roots of the hair. After that a drybrush of Tau Light Ochre across it and a final drybrush of Ungor Flesh at the tips.
