According to legend at a critical moment at the battle of maiwand the afghans began to loose heat under sustained British volley fire. She removed her veil and rallied the men. "Young love! If you do not fall in the battle of maiwand, by God someone is saving you as the symbol of shame" she picked up a fallen banner and sang. She was shot dead moments later. Did this happen? Who knows but it gives Afghanistan a female heroine that I think the country needs. Today the highest award for women is the Malalai heroine if maiwand medal
