Blood Bowl = an over dose of Teams
The Bright Crusaders
Now, back in the day my Brother painted up the Bright Crusaders to match their elaborate colour scheme. This consisted of half yellow, with the other half being diagonal white and blue stripes.
He used the plastic figures from the 2nd edition box set, and enamel paints, and a sharpened match stick for a brush (we were poor!). Needless to say this didn’t work out great.
Fast forward to now, and you can pick up a Bright Crusader team from Forgeworld, This uses the core human components from the last edition, and some resign bits to make them look different.
Colour scheme has been toned down as well, to a crème with blue socks and nice shiny armour.
I have gone with the Forgeworld scheme in the main. However rather than wash the Rakarth Flesh with Agrax Earthshade as suggested, I went with Seraphim Sepia to make it a bit more yellow. (this will come back to haunt me).
Also, on this thrower, I did his towel blue and white as a throw back to the old uniform.
I am also adding a star player to most of the teams just to make them look fancy. So for the Bright Crusaders I went with Karla Von Kill.
Forgeworld has a figure for her, but I don’t like the Wonder Woman vibes its giving me. The few pieces of art work for Karla depict her with a pony tail, and I wanted that to be the stand out feature on whatever miniature I went with.
In this case SP Minaturas’ Karla Star Player
Remember when I said that Seraphim Sepia choice would come back to haunt me? Yeah you guessed it, I wash Karla with Agrax Earthshade by mistake and her uniform is somewhat darker than the rest of the team.
Not sure what to do about that, I should really look back at my painting notes when there has been such a big gap in-between painting the main team and any additional players!
