Dan's Dweghom
Review of building the first models
So far I’ve built two resin characters (the tempered sorcerer and hold raegh) and 12 plastic infantry (hold thanes).
The resin models are really well detailed and went together very easily.
The plastic models are a different story. The models may be “upscaled” but so are the mold lines and the sprue connection points. It takes quite a while to tidy up the pieces. The models themselves consist of four parts for each body (front, back and sides). There are four sets that go together, A, B, C, and D and it wasn’t immediately apparent from the instructions that this was the case. The heads also come in two parts each and are paired A, B, C, and D. I assumed that head A’s go on body A’s, but found I was not able to do this for the entire set. Again the instructions were not clear so I don’t know if you’re supposed to just swap heads until you get a good fit, or if they were supposed to match by letter but have been miss-labelled on the sprue.
Despite these minor downsides the end models look really good. Their bases do feel a bit small for the stature of the models, but I’ll reserve judgment on that until I field an entire unit in their movement stands.
