The Vargos Raiders - Orc Blood Bowl Goodness
Finally there
This is a project is a project I started way back on a hobby Weekender and has taken me almost 3 years, since I first got the re-release of blood bowl.
Most were in an almost finished state but no basing and the goblins and some touch ups were required. I pushed the contrast on the skin etc a bit but I didn’t want to go over my older work even though I have gotten better since I did them. There are small conversions throughout – 2 lineman were converted to blitzers, head swaps on some black orcs, removed the hanging front armour off the lineman and I’m most pleased with the hair transplant on the thrower.
The basing was the most fun, sand, rocks, cork, agrellan earth, paint and pigments. First time I have used pigments and they really do add something to a base – as well as being easy to work with.
So here they are, all 15 of them – the 16th is a troll and I still haven’t decided on which one, I want one that isn’t holding a goblin but not sure how my conversion skills will be using the plastic kit (if you have any suggestions feel free to let me know)
Thanks
Wow. These look great – the weathering on the armour is really nice!
Yeah these are excellent.
how committed to a GW Troll are you? Lot’s of good Trolls out there from other companies.
I got one from Comixninos for my Chaos All Star Team, but I also bought the GW one throwing a Goblin for my Lowdown Rats team!
I like my Trolls to look like Trolls with little armour – they are a Troll, they don’t need it ?. I didn’t really want a throwing mini so of I get the GW one then I would need to convert. I do like the big child creatives Ugg the Troll but I am still looking around. Converting a rockgut troggoth is also an idea.
Brilliant figures @jammyjim well detailed an weathered. Congratulations on the gold button
Have you considered the hill troll chieftain ?
I hadn’t, but he does look good and relatively simple to convert, good shout. Thanks for the compliment always appreciated.
