The Demon Dice
Next up in this menagerie of madness is a set of five 12mm square demon dice.
Now these are quite fiddly and not as easy to paint as one might expect. This is because one side is always on the bottom and had to be painted once the other surfaces are dry.
Having undercoated with Humbrol Grey Spray, I decided that a yellow base for the main dice colour would enable me to use the traditional chaos colours for the demon faces (red, blue, green, purple and black) with highlights using lighter colours of the foundations. The dots on the dice were painted in the same colour scheme of the faces, but there was a constant need to touch up with yellow. Appropriate washes were used to blend the highlights with the base colours.
Painting time: 10 hours (two hours per die)
Paints used: Grey Spray; Averland Sunset; Macragge Blue; Lothern Blue; Mephiston Red; Blazing Orange; Screaming Pink; Cadian Fleshtone; Abbadon Black; Wraithbone; ‘ardcoat
Photos of finished dice mounted on a 50mm lipped base followed by WIP gallery. I may need to go back and do a little more touching up!
