First step into a new dungeon...

I have incredibly fond memories of HeroQuest from when I was a boy, I can still remember the excitement and anticipation of opening that next door to reveal what lay beyond.

So, when I discovered mini painting 5 or so years ago (late to the party I know), it made me think back to that wonderful time. Sadly my copy of the game had long since been condemned to the car boot sale,  and so I scoured eBay to find a complete and unpainted set to paint up as a project.

When it arrived, all those amazing memories came flooding back and I spent blissful evenings at my kitchen table painting up the classic miniatures before one weekend revealing it to my daughter and inviting her for a game.
She loved it! just as I had done all those years ago and I’m delighted it is still the firm favourite in our house 5 years on.

First step into a new dungeon...

During the past 5 years though, there has been rumours of several companies wanting to produce a new version of the game, with modern minis and scenery, but for reasons too numerous to go into they have all fallen short and it seems it is never going to be.

So, I’ve decided why not do it myself? I’ll find some modern day minis and paint up a new set of HeroQuest as a fun new project and bring some new life back into my favourite game.
