Kaldstrom! Kaldstrom! Kaldstrom! Pano Models part Two
I did have time for reflection during this. I hunted my first pano models which are at the start of this project and wanted to see how and if I have progressed. I think I have a lot not saying the old ones are bad just I think I have developed in terms of speed and brush handling. Still think I need to work on thinning my paints even more. You can be the judge, if you wish. I am always looking for feedback to improve, some issues with the models is because I couldn’t wait to get through to the next and they are a compromise. I think I would still be painting the first model if no compromises were made.
So that’s the Pano done. I will be expanding these into a full code one force as more releases come out. But with Defiance just round the corner (hopefully) this may take longer than I want.
More to come.
The goggles are superb. Very cool minis.
And difference between old and new is huge, for one the old look like apart from black lining they have next to no shadows, while new ones have their volumes defined well with nice shadows, also edge highlights on new ones are light years better than the old. Well done.
In fact the only thing I like better on the old fusiliers, are colours on the bases, they give much better contrast to colour scheme of the minis.
Thats something to think about on the bases. I “was” going to do them frozen which would have desaturated them which should have made the models pop slightly more. But I do see what you mean with the old ones, the models do pop out from the bases more because of the contrast. This may be something for a rainy day for me but I think I may weather them down. They wont fit the Mat anymore but I was almost certainly never going to play using the mat. This may be one for the next spring clean challenge. Update… Read more »
