Okay, I see what you did there. From a “table-distance” view there is a light sparkle which could be a “scattered starfield effect”. Very nice, particularly if the goal is to get a fanboy to shake their head in consternation. **unsolicited advice ahead** 😉 In my experience and purely IMHO, glitter can’t be used subtly. A little bit of glitter looks accidental or a mistake. But when it is used as an accent element it really creates a stronger look. Great idea. Would make it easier too.
After trying the effect again I realized that Lahmian Medium isn’t the best for the effect. I used ‘Ardcoat as the medium that I sprinkled the glitter into. Because it has a thicker consistency it gives a better hold on the glitter, resulting in a faster result and requiring fewer second passes to complete coverage. Then sealing it on with a topcoat of gloss paint seals it all down.
