Zebraoutrider joins the Ordo Xenos and the Mubraxis Dustdogs
Mubraxis Dustdogs Tanks arriving in the workshop
Whilst the x10 Mubraxis Dustdogs Rough Riders go off for an undercoat of chaos black spray, I’ve started to collect together the tanks to make up the Armoured Division element of this project.
The star of the mechanised beasts will be a Solar Auxiliar Leman Russ Incinerator. This is a brand new kit from Forge World that I didn’t have time to build for the 3rd Armoured Division Savlar Chemdogs project that I entered in GW’s Armies on Parade last October. But, with its trench rails it will fit into the desert background for this new unit.
To accompany the Incinerator, I’ve an old Leman Russ Battle Tank that could do with a repaint, but which I want to clean and try out the salt weathering technique on… so although it’s painted red, I will be incorporating that base colour into the camouflage pattern that I have envisaged. I have also decided the main block colour for the tanks will be Citadel Wraithbone with Averland Sunset and Carroburg Crimson washes.
The third tank is a troop transport Chimera that desperately needs a repaint, but I’m going to customise it by swapping out the multi-laser in the turret with a kit-bashed heavy flamer. Originally I was going to add this to Glofski’s 13th Armoured Division Sable Knights, but I think it will fit nicely in this project.
I’ve another Chimera to repurpose that I think I will customise for the Inquisitor and his retinue as the project progresses along with some airborne support from a Valkyrie.
So there should be at least five vehicles in this project…
I have also decided on a company insignia of a snarling pit bull dog that I will paint freehand (using a great image I’ve found on the Internet as a guide) onto the sides of the Incinerator akin to painting the eagle on Commander Glofski’s tank in this year’s BOW Spring Clean Challenge.
I think this image will aptly represent the hard-nosed Mubraxis Dustdogs that have to live and survive in a very harsh environment.
