Painting the Apocalypse
Resin Ruins
Working on super detailing these ruins for my Zona Alpha games. Had these walls for years so I put them together and then build up the interior with plastruct and leftovers from laser cut kit sprues. For the stairs you just take the negative image of the stairs left on the sprue when you punch out the piece for laser cut stairs and cut that negative image out to use as a second set of stairs. Perfectly good for ruins and that way you don’t have to throw out all that left over wood. These came from a 4Ground kit, the Victorian Police station IIRC. The individual steps are then made with plastruct wood panels cut to size. Remember to score your plastruct with heavy grit sandpaper so it looks like wood. This was done on bottom floor and the second floor as well. The supports for the second floor are also laser cut leftover sprue. The interior walls are foam core and the ruble piles are from Mantic. I will post pictures of the finished piece later.
The building looks great. Wonderful tip on using the negative space left when removing the stairs from their frames.
This looks like an amazing project – can’t wait to see some progress!
Thanks, just finished the exterior wall painting. Should be done soon.
