Today we have the return of @Elessar2590 to our stream, where we’ll be taking another look at BATTLEFIELD: REBELLION, our new command-tactical wargame of the American Revolution. With slightly redesigned counters and tweaked turn sequence, we’ll also be rolling out some new factions for the first time, namely the Crown Germans (“Hessians”) and the Native Americans of the Iroquois Confederacy, which played such a crucial role in the northern campaigns of 1775-1779.
Great game. I really enjoyed that, along with all the historical context. It’s not a period I know a lot about. So what was the end result? Unfortunately I don’t have time to go through the 3-hour YouTube video!
It came down to a chaotic stalemate. Jim seemed to think I could maybe win if we kept going but I doubt it.
Basically my army routed in the North but was rallying while Jim’s Southern force was routing for good. It would have come down to a brutal hand to hand melee in the Tavern with a few Grenadiers up against about twice as many Continentals.

@elessar2590 – I definitely agree with the chaotic part. This is what happens when you’re gaming for stream and you want to finish the show with something big, loud and fun … like the charge of 400+ Hessian grenadiers, fusiliers and jaegers. 😀 The Crown position, I feel, was deceptively weak. If those Patriot units with Spencer had been DESTROYED rather than ROUTED, I might have felt better. Because you immediately rallied them to shaken, and Spencer was starting ti put that dented line back together.
