My Opinion on Scibor's Miniatures

I thought I’d talk a little about working with Scibor’s miniatures.

Generally casts are good. Mold lines are inevitable and I’m not too concerned unless they’re hard to clean up. I’ve found on some weapon hilts a mold line running through the middle of some pattering. They’re difficult to remove without ruining the detail underneath.

Resin cleanup is a chore and Scibor don’t make this easy. While we accept there needs to be a connection point between the piece and the resin feed, some were placed in unnecessarily difficult spots.

Pieces glued together will very likely need greenstuff for the gaps.

Overall the general quality of detail is excellent. Assembling these figures isn’t too straightforward and anyone purchasing them should be prepared to do some extra work.

One egregious example of unnecessary resin clean up is visible on a bull centaur's equine torso. Where the human part would connect to the horse there is a large block of resin that needs removing I try to avoid sanding resin and stick to cutting. But this piece is very awkward. One egregious example of unnecessary resin clean up is visible on a bull centaur's equine torso. Units typically arrive with the weapons needing gluing on. I always pin now. The connection points aren't big and do not aid you in determining their placement.Units typically arrive with the weapons needing gluing on. I always pin now. On the wing of the war boss's bull mount the most prominent feather near the dwarf's head had near no detail due to being an attachment point of the scaffoling. I had to try and carve it back in. I think it'll do.On the wing of the war boss's bull mount the most prominent feather near the dwarf's head had near no detail due to being an attachment point of the scaffoling.
