The Great Grey Massacre.
The Contrast Paint Challenge.
Hello,
I do not know if this will ever be made public but if it is thank you for viewing my paltry efforts.I am a long time hobbyist but having had a long break from the hobby I re-entered it in 2013 with a view to help in my battle with mental illness. I embarked on a project to make Warhammer fantasy terrain and to learn how to paint a High Elf army properly and recreate how they were depicted in the 90’s when my hobby life began.
On Table Top however introduced me to a world of amazing models and miniatures beyond that limited scope and now my pile of plastic has expanded exponentially. Especially with Warlord Games Test of Honour box sets. These models are beautiful and captured my imagination as did Rangers of Shadows Deep. Wargames Illustrated and Miniature Wargames have also expanded my dusty pile of grey plastic with many delightful additions. My paucity of skills at painting and the length of time it takes me to paint made me despair at ever painting any of it. Especially the Feudal Japanese models which I could not do justice in any practical time scale.
Then came Citadels Contrast Paint marketing campaign. My usual cynicism was over ridden by their compelling marketing and the genuine excitement and enthusiasm from many previewers and reviewers. I thus invested in the full set and in September set about building and priming and base coating nearly a hundred random miniatures to try out these miracle paints and to see if they could help me get fully painted miniatures.
I have struggled to get to this point illness and events have set me back nearly twelve months in this endeavour but now I am attempting to add colour to the below hordes:
