This is the sixth regiment in my Kingdom of Men army and they are Edmund Lord Grey of Ruthin, Earl of Kent, Regiment of Foot Knights, also known as the Dragon Guard, because of the Commanders striking Dragon Red armour. As with the other regiments the banner is based upon the real banner used by Edmund Lord Grey of Ruthin, Earl of Kent in the War of the Roses.

These are the super elite unit of the army, named for there fiery temperament as well as their colour of the banner and livery. I have gone with the the colour on Edmund Lord Grey of Ruthin, Earl of Kent’s banner with is mainly red and chose red to be the other colour besides the armour. I used Vallejo Game Colour Blood Red for this.

The Commanders have red armour with I first painted Vallejo Model Colour Gold and highlighted with a gentle drybrush with VMC Silver. For the commander himself I used a thin down Citadel Technical paint Blood For the Blood God, that gave him that rich, deep colour. For the standard bearer I used VMC Transparent Red, a red glaze, which gave a pinker red.
