Skarbrand Painting VLOG
My Painting Journey
I painted Skarbrand! I wanted him to look like he’d just burst from hell so I’ve gone with a very hellboy sort of a feel. Its almost a very traditional looking Skarbrand from the main artwork
I’ve split my videos into two, firstly showing basing and then the second video is for the ‘miniature’ himself. I used a couple of contrast paints and I’ve got to say I’m starting to love them!!

Painting a Lava Base
I’ve attempted a Lava base once in the past but it didn’t really turn out well.
I had a play around with a few shades of red coming from black and it sort of worked, however, I really wanted it to look really hot so I added a few shades of yellow too.
Model Painting
As I said I wanted to go with a Hellboy look so it was straight to Contrast Blood Angels Red, a really good colour that gets rid of any need to shade or highlight. Though you can if you wanted to.
I’ve linked the video down below again to show you how I painted the complete model. It’s a really simple paint scheme that looks great on the tabletop with not to much effort.
I love the vividness of the red, also think that lava base is quite special.
