Oh Shiney and the armies

Trying to track the project from start to finish, I have decided that I need to try and work out what I have actually bought in terms of models. After joining the Nickstarter, I got trapped on Warlord Games website, not once but twice, and the gremlins would not let me leave until I had placed an order (or that’s what I tell my partner, and those gremlins are very persuasive). There is plenty or ranges for the period – but I have stuck with Warlord, following the Nickstarter to begin with.

Oh Shiney and the armies

I went all in on the Nickstarter and the above shows everything that came with it, I had forgotten just how much there was and was like a kid with an everlasting sweetie packet!

So, I have plenty to choose from, and I think the first job in trying to decide what to paint first is by creating two different forces for Muskets and Tomahawks, one British and one French. For variety, I am going to make sure each army has an Indian unit in it. So below are my two list – are they competitive, I don’t know, should they have two leaders, I don’t know, but they are what I like the look of, so have the rule of cool trait, in case I am breaking any game rules at this point.

British

  • British Regular Leader, 1 model, (Prestigious Regiment +3, Experienced +1) 28 points
  • British Line Infantry, 10 models, 100 points
  • British Live Infantry, 10 models, 100 points (will be Highlanders)
  • British Grenadiers, 6 models, (Elite +13), 96 points
  • Ranger Officer, 1 model, (Tomahawk, +1, Commander of the Elite Companies +2), 27 points
  • Rangers, 8 models (Elite Companies +12, Local Knowledge +6) 87 points
  • Indian Warriors, 4 models, (Bloodthirsty +10) 44 points
  • Indian Warriors, 6 models, 52 points
  • Total points – 46 models, 494 points

French

  • French Regular Officer, 1 model (Elite Regiment +3), 27 points
  • French Infantry, 10 models, 100 points
  • Canadian Militia Leader, 1 model (Old Wolf +1), 27 points
  • Canadian Militia, 6 models (Veteran +6), 61 points
  • Compagnies Franches de la Marine, 8 models, 84 points
  • Compagnies Franches de la Marine, 8 models, (Experienced +10) 94 points
  • Indian Warriors, 4 models, (Bloodthirsty +10) 44 points
  • Indian Warriors, 6 models, 52 points
  • Total points – 44 models, 489 points

I think after these forces, some of the civilians would be next on the painting table to give some extra flavour to the table.
