After a detour through cyano-acrylate and the CA + green stuff (I was worried about my ability to drill a hole straight down the shaft) Hades is pinned and painted. I end up using one of my smallest drill bits and using the bit itself as the pin. I was told the place to go for wire and bits is either a model train shop or a music store. By the by, I thought I would be clever by adding some rubble texture to the base before I laid down the sand. As you can see, that was not actually clever. The sand ended up just covering over the rubble. That may actually be nice in that it’ll give a bit more undulation to the base level sand but it was not the look I was going for.

So…add rubble/accent pieces after sand.
