You know, @denzien , on Sitrep Podcast @stvitusdancern and @noyjatat have been talking about contrast paints – and what they do for big infantry armies. My first thought was my 20mm American Revolution forces. They don’t look anywhere near as good as yours, I was considering using contrast paints to touch up / expand this force.
Do you find them to work well on lighter colors like the white waistcoats and breeches? That’s the toughest part of my AmRev painting lately.
I managed to paint over 30 minis in one day using contrast paints so it can be quick. I find the whites to be difficult with contrast. White is very muted and rather grey so I usually touch them up with pure white after wards. Bright colours also look a bit glossy such as reds and blues but natural browns and flesh work very well. Black is never very dark either.
