In A Galaxy not that far away.
New and old Toys roll out
Well I’m back from an amazing weekend at OTT HQ, most of time with head down hobbying like mad, funny how at home even if I try I struggle to manage a couple of hours hobbying, but at above 12 hours with only occasional toilet and refeshment breaks is no problem at all.
Well I’m home and for 1st gaming night post return guess what Legion.
Rather than a standard game went for a more narrative style game, which doesn’t exactly follow cannon or the game set up rules in that it has Krennic and Luke Skywalker meeting on a non descript desert planet somewhere East of Bilston ( look it up on the map).
As usual the Empire aided by Bugs Bunnies (or Darth Carrot to the Sith) big Rebel Base Here neon sign, have discovered a rebel base and in a effort to regain some Brownie points post employing a known traitor to design the Death Star, is personally leading a force of picked troopers to overun the base before the Terrorists can slip away again.
Luke Skywalker (or Lukewarm Dishwater you pick) has gathered a select force of troops ( they were on an excursion muggin little old ladies and missed their ship) to fight a rearguard , and try and save frozen Han Solo (Desert planet nobody had any de-icer) plus crates of Kyber crystals which someone had mysteriously forgot to pack (Daffy Duck was put in charge of them …..at least they didn’t blow up.
Most of tables building’s and the Hexon itself are some 16 years old, a credit to both Hexon and industrial strength PVA.
As I haven’t got round to painting the legion barracades , I have used the one in the Old AT43 game (at some point those figures will appear as some faction for Legion)
The Hexon is a base un flocked set, with my own scatter mix, consisting of lime stone powder , which Pete a club member had been looking into the possibility that the dust produced at a lime stone quarry had any practical use, and had bags of the stuff ( I mean really big bags) . To which was added some fibrous scatter brought at Partizan many years back, which looked sand coloured in the bad lighting, but was bright orange in daylight but mixed gave the effect above.
Most of the grey Terrain is scratch built from Bisto Gray pots and a pressure cooker top with plastic straws added, the rest of buildings come from various manufacturers, some now defunct. The ruined desert buildings were brought pre WMMM’s show moving from Alumwell School, to Aldersley stadium and pre date the Hexon purchase by several years , they may be older than some OTT staffers!
