Local Defence Force
Day 22 of my journey around the world of 1938 A Very British Civil War and today I am going to do an honourable mention to the unforgotten heroes, the ones who are not fighting for cause, ideal or for a better Britain, these are the defenders of their homes, towns and villages, these are the Local Defence Force.
Not everyone is signed up to one faction or other as most people are more interested in there local area and how the war is going to effect them. To this end most areas, especially rural and suburban areas, the people have banded together, putting aside differences and armed themselves with the sole aim of protecting their land and property. These are the backbone of many of the people in Britain, not fighting for cause but fighting for everyone.
