PLAN B - PIMP YOUR AT-AT
Before we start .....
Normally, I start crafting and then determine what I need for tools. And then the big search starts. This time I thought about what I needed and I could get everything right. Of course, something is always missing …
My wife: “Do not eat so much sweets and chips”. Me: “I need that for the bits …”.
And then you go already with the feet of the AT-AT. The only question is, if I first paint all the parts before gluing together? And if so how?
I would suggest a dark grey spray primer to all parts. Prevents warping, and it’s a nice first colour even for parts you later can’t really reach with a brush. I’d also recommend Alleskleber (UHU or some such) instead of the hot glue. That stuff is nasty and hard to dose right.
Thanks for your hints. I will use the hot glue only in places that are important for the statics of the model and where you can not see it. Otherwise, I take wood glue. For coloring, I have opted for normal tinting to keep it as cheap as possible and because the spray on the MDF wood does not seem to adhere well.
