SoapDoDger's Aristeia!
Putting everything together.
Now it’s time to put everything together and finish phase one of this project.
I cut the paperclips the models were mounted to painted the bottom of the cut clips in white and while still wet placed them on the base in the orentation I wanted.
I then used a pin vice and micro drill bit to drill holes and then superglued the models to the base. I don’t this for each of the models.
So that’s stage one complete. Quite pleased with the results.
Still don’t like the plastic game pieces but overall they do a job. Just to play the game in a few weeks and I will base the decision on phase 2 on the outcome.
Next up could include a few expansions, obstacles, barriers, custom tokens. Just don’t know if I want to invest the time yet.
Will not be updating this project for a few weeks until the game and will post a response to that along with next steps or marking this as complete.
We will see but at least I can say more to come.
Those turned out exceptionally nice! Well done.
I may have to rebase mine now.
Thanks! Think it will make more sence with more models. Only designed A! And 1, so cant have more than 14 models without more work. Will see if I can finish off the JSA and then possibly an expansion. Dont think you need to re-base though your bases look awsome!
It looks like Aristeia serves you well. Any plans on building hexadome which could act as Infinity terrain? I still can’t shake off how cool battle kiwi’s rumbledome looks, I’d love to see your take on this idea.
Already thought it will need to see how the games go and that would be stage 3 or 4 of the project. If I get into it I could see myself making something large. I just looked at the Kiwi one though and it doesn’t sit well. I think an Aristeia board like it should be about 100 times the size but from my trips to America I did see small baseball fields so it would probably be a community Aristeia court rather than a premier league one perhaps set in some kind of oriental setting. We will see though.… Read more »
Good thinking!
Never thought about Aristeia as a popular sport, but yeah that would be fun Saturday afternoon with kids.
Of course size-wise we can’t get even close to scale with real-life stadium. Just imagine how normal football stadium looks like, the one with 30-40k seats would be about 200 – 300 m long (depending on commercial spaces) which in Infinity terms would mean between 6 and 8 m…
Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed!
